Terroir Notes: The Naked Orange comes from both sides of the lake. To the west, from the slopes of the Leitha Mountains, where the vines grow on limestone and slate. To the east of the lake, from the gravelly Parndorf Plateau and its southern slopes with calcareous sedimentary soils.

Winemaking Notes: Hand-picked from late August to mid-September, spontaneous fermentation, and mostly maceration on the skins for up to two weeks. Gently pressed, spontaneous fermentation, aged for 18 months in amphorae and large oak barrels on its lees, unfiltered and bottled with minimal sulfur.

Tasting Notes: Both on the nose and palate, blood orange is explored with meticulous precision. From the aromatic scent of its blossom, through the warming effect of its essential oil, from the delicate, stimulating bitterness of its peel, to the refreshing juiciness of its pulp. This wine truly deserves the name "orange." More delicate and refined than the term "orange" might suggest, the Heinrich Naked Orange fills the glass and is consumed in just as many seconds.
