The Aizpurua family has been producing Txakoli in the Txakoli de Getaria DO of Spain since 1838. Their winery officially opened in 1905, and generation after generation have farmed Hondurri grapes and made Txakoli.

Now the 4th generation of the Aizpurua family, siblings Maria, Jesus, Imanol, and Miren, farm 14 hectares of organically grown vines less than 1km from the ocean (ranging from 7 years, to well over 50 years old) that are overhead trained to encourage airflow under the grape clusters.

Their wine is a fantastic representation of their place, perched on the steep green hillsides above the Bay of Biscay in the village of Meagas, just inland from the fishing town of Getaria. The bright sunshine, salty perfume, and Cantabrian sea come through in each spritzy sip.
